To Live Inside a Drop of Water

"…To live inside a water drop
Or on a rainbow in the sky
Until the year 2000 I hope…"
(lyrics: Michal Argaman, music: Ilan Wirzberg, singer: Nurit Galron).

Felix's photographs feature places which resonate with people's footsteps. His works convey a sense of anticipation, as if he may have encountered someone returning had he waited there a little longer; someone whose return would have breathed new life into the place. Felix, on his part, knows it will not happen; he knows this is an eternally temporary situation.

The series features ostensibly negligible details: a weed in a field, a shack that has remained amid trees, beds in a deserted hospital. It is not a quest for the next place, but a re-focusing of the gaze on the existent; a diversion which projects on oneself, making you reflect on yourself, touch upon the intimacy concealed in the photograph, think how close all this is to you, no matter where you are situated at present.

Felix's attention is directed at the hidden, the indrawn. He does not isolate it, nor strive to draw greater attention to it. He merely indicates, indicates it as existent.
